New Scholarships

Over 50 scholarships are given out each year.

Many of the Named Scholarships provide not just one but several scholarships. Be sure to apply for all scholarships that you think you might qualify.

Each year the number of NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS increases and listed below are 3 of the newest additions to that growing list.

Jerry and Norma Schmitz Scholarship

The Schmitz family established the Jerry and Norma Schmitz Scholarship in Memory of their parents. This scholarship pays honor to Jerry and Norma for their hard word, integrity, appreciation for others and generosity. With this scholarship those qualities will be passed forward to deserving high school graduates.

McCulloch Family Scholarship

Don, former Middle School Teacher, and Joan McCulloch, Director of the Dickinson County Voluntary Action Center, established this scholarship in appreciation for their life in a family friendly community with a quality education system. The scholarship is intended to show graduating seniors how much they are respected and to wish them well as they continue on with their education goals.

Tom and Annette Kalkhoff Scholarship

Tom and Annette Kalkhoff moved to Spirit Lake in 1986 when Dr. Kalkhoff began his career as a family practice physician. Annette taught in both the elementary and middle schools, enjoying her years working with the staff and students. The Kalkhoffs feel strongly that a good education is key to future success, and wish to encourage future graduates with their scholarship.
